Mrs. Edward Custer, 75, of 714 West Monroe Street in Washington died this morning, Aug. 17, 1979 in long term care unit of the Washington County Hospital. She had not been well the past year.

The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. James L. Cottrell in charge. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation begins at the funeral home Saturday at noon, and the family will be there from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Memorials may be given to the Cancer Society.

Mable Woods was born in Fairfield Aug. 28, 1903, a daughter of Frank E. and Bertha Bidwell Woods. She was raised in Fairfield and married here June 6, 1920 to Edward F. Custer who died Dec. 31, 1978.

Surviving are two sons; James of Washington and Richard of Ainsworth; two daughters: Mrs. Alvin (Wanda) Jones, and Mrs. William F. (Betty) Allbaugh, both of Washington; one brother, Les Woods of Washington; two sisters; Mrs. Joe (Edna) Simmering of Washington and Mrs. Leo (Nellie) Embree of Lone Tree; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
