Beulah A. Lechner

BRIGHTON - The service for Beulah A. Lechner, 89, who died Friday, April 8, 1994, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, Iowa, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brighton United Church with the Rev. Tobert M. Bell officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Family visitation begins at 7 tonight at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. A memorial has been established to Brighton Volunteer First Responders.

Mrs. Lechner was born June 1, 1904, in Perlee, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Foster Courtney. She graduated from Brighton High School. On June 2, 1923, she married Henry Lechner in Fairfield. He died Sept. 8, 1983. She lived most of her life in Brighton. She and her husband owned and operated the Lechner Garage until 1958. She moved to the Unitec Presbyterian Home in 1990. She was a member of Brighton United Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving are a son, W.N. "Bud" of Washington, Iowa; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Ferne Hoefer of Brighton. Four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
