Jean Arbogast

Jean Arbogast, 61, of Brighton, died Wednesday, May 19, 2002 at Mercy Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Schrock Cemetery south of Washington with the Rev. Don Coffin officiating.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Schrock Cemetery and the Wayland and Brighton First Responders in her name.

Mrs. Arbogast was born June 18, 1940 in Washington, the daughter of Leonard and Wilma (Steele) Beauregard. She married Johnie L. Arbogast October 2, 1959 in Washington.

She graduated from Washington High School in 1957. She was employed at Advance Ross in Washington, WACO school systems and for the last twenty years at Norwood (McCleery Cummings) in Washington.

She was a member of the Prairie Flower Baptist Church, the Lake Darling Sadle Club and was the secretary and treasurer of Heartland Futurity.

Mrs. Arbogast's hobbies included animals, especially horses, reading, ceramics and plants.

Survivors include her husband of Brighton; her mother of Washington; one son, Terry Arbogast of Brighton; two daughters, Debra Barnett and Cindy Arbogast both of Brighton; one brother, Ray Beauregard and wife, Pat, of Boise, Idaho; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father.
