James Landon, 43, dies

BRIGHTON---James Michael Landon, 43, of Brighton, died unexpectedly at home Nov. 14, 1994.

Services will be held at Gould Funeral Home, Brighton, at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. David Rogula officiating. Visitation will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Brighton. A memorial fund has been established.

James Landon was born July 16, 1951, in Muscatine, to Alonzo and Esther (Higgerson) Landon. He attended Brighton Elementary and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1969, graduating from Kirkwood Community College with an associates degree in Electronics. He married Bonnie Stagers in Washington on July 16, 1970. He worked as an auto body technician for Smithburg Auto Salvage in Lockridge for several years.

Survivors include: his wife; four daughters, Tracy Landon, Fairfield, Deanna Landon-Hird, San Diego, Calif., Marcy and Julie Landon, Brighton; three sisters, Lillie Shafranek, Webster, Alice Arbogast Sumner, Wash., and Jan Lippert, Burlington; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Minnie Landon and one brother, Lonnie.
