Clarence Zieglowsky

Clarence Zieglowsky, 79, of Washington, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at Washington County Hospital, following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 19, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Washington with Bud Branham officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Sunday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, where family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 Sunday evening. A general memorial has been established.

Mr. Zieglowsky was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Washington, to Charles and Mildred (Deal) Zieglowsky. He married Juanita Joan Wallace on April 1, 1925, in Washington. She preceded him in death in March.

Mr. Zieglowsky attended country school in Washington County. He and his wife owned and operated Zieglowsky Landscaping & Trucking for nearly 40 years. He had previously farmed north of Washington. He was a member of the “Blue Notes.” He traveled all over performing and providing entertainment as “Ziggy, the One Man Band” at retirement homes. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he was involved with church activities. He was also a member of the Winnicon Winnebago Club, the Good Sam’ers Motorhome Club and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and going on motor home excursions.

Mr. Zieglowsky is survived by three daughters, Linda Baughman of Denver, Colo., Sierra “Sue” Applegate and husband Larry of Ainsworth, and Shirley Brown and husband don of Washington; two sons, Jim Zieglowsky and wife Deena of Mt. Green, Utah, and Alvin Zieglowsky of Overland Park, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Wilbur Zieglowsky of Garden Grove, Calif.; three sisters-in-law, Georgie Zieglowsky, Nelle Brown, and Mary Wallace.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Juanita “Wally” Zieglowsky; two brothers, Cloyce and Wilmer; and two sisters, Ethel Eichelberger and Virginia Capps.
