Mrs. Parcell dies at 87

Mrs. Opal Parcell, 87, of Washington, died Saturday morning at Washington County Hospital after an illness of two weeks. She had been failing the past month. She was the mother of Leona Kenkinger (sic: Genkinger), 501 N. Court.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Washington, Ia. Burial will also be in Washington.

Mrs. Parcell had made her home in Fairfield about two years at the Dill Apartments across the street from the Genkinger family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pearl, and a daughter.

Besides Leona, she is survived by two other daughters, Frieda Miller of Mesa, Ariz., and Velda Dodds of Ruston, La. There are eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
