C.H.A. Thompson, 88 dies here Tuesday.

C.H.A. Thompson, 88, died Tuesday morning, January 29, 1974, at Shenk's Nursing Home in Wellman. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and had been a used car dealer for many years before his retirement.

The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Jones Furneral Home with the Rev. Phil Kaufman in charge. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson was born in this county Oct. 9, 1885, a son of Moses and Anna Morrison Thompson. he was reared in Washington and married Aug. 1, 1910, to Elsie Brannen who preceded him in death. On Oct. 13, 1942, he married Carrie Patterson who survives.

Other survivors are a son, Charles of Champaign, Ill.; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. William (Edith) Sheetz of Washington and Mrs. George (Bertha) Field of Chicago; two step-daughters, Mrs Harold (Rosella) Moore of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Irvin (Esther) White of Columbus Junction; and a step-son, John W. (Bill) Patterson of Washington.

One daughter and two sisters preceded him in death.
