Mrs. Petersen, 91, dies today.

Mrs. Sophia Petersen, 91, of 815 South Iowa Avenue died Thursday, Nov. 29, 1973 at the Washington Care Center. She had been ill the past month.

The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Roland Crandall in charge. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.

Sophia Hindahl was born Aug. 5, 1882, in Greenview, Ill. A daughter of William H. and Anna Simmering Hindahl, she was reared in Greenview and married here Dec. 23, 1900 to David G. Knottnerus. He died Nov. 3, 1932 and in 1936 she was married to John C. Petersen. He died Dec. 4, 1971.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Anne A. Bozman of Washington; a son, William H. Knottnerus of Portland, Ore.; one grandchild and five great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Pauline Wolf and Mrs. Louise Shields of Muscatine, Mrs. Carl Hardin of Raymondville, Mo., and Mrs. Ruby Hungate at Rock Island, Ill.; and three brothers: Irvin Hindahl of East Moline, Ill., and George and John Hindahl of Washington.
