Ardith Johnson, 68, dies in Fairfield.

FAIRFIELD - Ardith Johnson, 68, a Washington County native, died Friday at her home here.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Charles Kincaid officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Raymond Funeral Home. A memorial for the First Christian Church, of which Mrs. Johnson was a member, has been established.

She was born Dec. 29, 1914, in Rubio, the daughter of L. Berne and L. Ella Matlock Luithly. She was reared and educated in Washington County. She was a graduate of Richland High School and Iowa State University.

She married Albert C. Johnson Jr. on July 25, 1937. She was a member of Delta, Delta, Delta, was a charter member of Chapter MB of PEO and was also active in Girl Scouts.

Mrs. Johnson worked for several years as a dietician at Jefferson County Hospital and also operated a nursery school in her home.

Surviving are her husband, a son Joel of Dallas, Texas, a daughter Jill Moser of Fairfield, and four grandchildren.
