Pat Burroughs dies on Sunday.

Myron E. (Pat) Burroughs, 65, of 18 Linn Hollow Mobile Court, Rt. 2, Washington, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 1978, at University Hospital, Iowa City. He had been ill since March 31.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Sherman-Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Sachau officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Cancer fund. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Burroughs was born Aug. 8 1913, in Washington County, the son of Earl and Cora Harvey Burroughs. He was reared and educated in Washington County Schools. On Jan. 9, 1936, he married Mary Bequeaith at Washington. He had lived in the county his entire life, had served as clerk of Brighton Township for several years and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Washington Country Club, Washington Bowling Association and formerly of the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Burroughs of Washington; two sons, Larry Burroughs of Davenport and Ronald Burroughs of Coal Valley, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Patricia) Sachau of Colon, Mich.; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. S. W. (Lucile) Shaffer of Washington; Mrs. Harold (Bashie) Swick of New London; Mrs. Harry (Gladys) Horseowsky of Lone Tree; and Mrs Aletha Engle of Temple, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
