M. Schwab Dies At 78

BRIGHTON - Mrs. Myrtle Thompson Schwab, 78, passed away at 12:40 a.m. today at Long Term Care Center, Washington County Hospital, where she had been a patient since July 21, 1975.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton in charge of Rev. Virgil Butler. Burial will be in Sandy Hook Cemetery, north of Brighton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

She was born March 29, 1898 at Riverside, Iowa, the daughter of Grant and Eva Youngkin Thompson. She was married to Lewis Schwab February 29, 1924 and they spent their married life at Riverside and surrounding area until 1944 when they moved to the Brighton community. They lived in Brighton for the past 12 years.

Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Jean) Kitch, Fairfield; Mrs. Max (Ethel Mae) Schaefer, Lockridge; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Marion Thompson, Riverside, and Lloyd Thompson, Missouri; four sisters, Mrs. Glen Cray and Mrs. Jack Saforek, both of Washington; Mrs. Robert Nicola and Mrs. Walter Schnoedelen, both of Iowa City. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
