Richard D. Maxwell dies in Arkansas

Richard D. Maxwell, 42, died Friday, January 18, 1974, at Conway Memorial Hospital in Conway, Arkansas. He had been ill for three months. The Maxwell home is on route 5, Conway, Ark.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church in Washington. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Saturday in Conway and he will be brought to the Jones Funeral Home here where visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

A son of Donald H. and Minnie E Kimberly Maxwell, he was born in Des Moines July 14, 1931. He was reared here and attended the University of Iowa. He married Pauline Johnson June 5, 1954.

Mr. Maxwell was a civil engineer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Knights Templar, Scimitar Shrine Temple at Little Rock, the Elks Lodge and Kiwanis Club. He had served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Alan and Erick, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Don (Minnie) Maxwell of Washington. His father preceded him in death.
