Maynard GOFF Sr.

Maynard GOFF, Sr., 87, of Washington, Iowa, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Jones Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Brett Best officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation began at noon today with family present from 7-8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.

Mr. GOFF was born Sept. 2, 1910, in Washington County, the son of Kenneth W. and Luvina EICHER GOFF. He married Reeva BAIN in Monmouth, Ill., Oct. 8, 1930. She died in 1996.

He was a lifetime resident of Washington County. He attended Stringtown School and First Baptist Church. He was a self-taught muscian and artist. He worked as a paint foreman at Parsons College in Fairfield until his retirement in 1976. After retiring, he worked 10 years as the night clerk at the YMCA.

Survivors include three sons, Maynard Jr. and Brad, both of Washington, and Blaine of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Arlene KLOPFENSTEIN of Wayland.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and a number of brothers and sisters.
