5 July 1950Williams Funeral Thursday Afternoon
George H. Williams, 800 North 4th, died Tuesday morning in a motel in Topeka, Kansas. He had been ill for several months and was on his way to Colorado for his health when he was stricken. He left here Monday with Emmett Hayes. He was 63 years old.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at Jones funeral home with interment in Elm Grove cemetery.
He was born here Mar. 18, 1887, the son of Mark and Ida Woods Williams. He lived in this city all of his life. He was married to Mary Messenger.
He was a painter here prior to his illness.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Eddie Schell of Muscatine and two brothers, Ralph of Washington and Lloyd of Montezuma, Iowa.
