Robert Jacobs Dies Here This Morning

Hiram Robert Jacobs, 59, of 795 South Avenue D in Washington, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 1957 at the Ottumwa County Hospital, as a result of injuries received in an auto accident last Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 1957 in the Jones Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Washington, Iowa.

Hiram Robert Jacobs was born Friday, 19 Aug. 1898, in Washington, a son of Mark Martin and Elizabeth Antoinette Baker Jacobs. He married Sep. 1, 1920 to Hattie Mabel Riley, who died in 1930.

Survivors include seven children, Robert Jr. of Riverside, David of Dallas, Texas, Milford of Columbia Junction, Mrs. Betty Shaffer and Harry Jacobs of Packwood, Clifford of Washington, and Mrs. Marie Stagers of Richland; two step-sons, Alfred and Dale; three sisters, Mrs. Walter Whisler and Mrs. Lulu Yoder of Washington and Mrs. Jack Schneider of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Harold of Cedar Rapids, and Neal of Birmingham; and 25 grandchildren.
