William D. "Bill" Graf, 78, of Washington, died Friday, Apr 3, 2009, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington following a lingering illness.

Mr. Graf was born Apr 16, 1930, in Washington, the son of Henry and Effie (White) Graf. He married Helen Ayers on Mar 22, 1950 in Davenport.

Surviving are his wife; four children, Beverly Black and husband Mike of Washington, Gary Graf of Washington, William H. Graf and wife Marla of Washington, and Sherry Lynn Black and husband Bill of Washington; nine granchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Hilda Blum of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings, Leo Graf, Gerald Graf, Raymond Graf, Kate McCrabb, and Elvin Graf.
