Leila Mae Mullikin, 79, of Brighton, died at her home in Brighton at 3:15 AM Thursday June 28, 2007. She was born June 15, 1928 near Brighton, the daughter of Clarence Lon and Clara Susan (Palm) Brown. Leila attended area schools and lived in Brighton all her life. She married Wesley Mullikin October 29, 1948 in Independence, IA. Leila was a homeaker and assisted her husband in his auto parts store. she was a member of the Brighton United Church, Martha's Circle, Brighton United Church Women, bible study groups and assisted with congregate meals at the church, TTT of Brighton and the Pythian Sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Wesley, one son, Robert Mullikin of St Louis, MO, two daughters: Pam (Nick) Bloom of Cedar Rapids, IA and Ruth Ann Wieland of Ainsworth, six grandchildren: Dustin (Heather)Bloom, Kenzie Bloom, Drew Bloom, Jason Mullikin, Jennifer Mullikin, Lauren Mullikin, one sister, Josephine Greene of Wayland, Doyle Brown and Clarence Brown, Jr. both of Washington, Kenneth Brown of Mt Pleasant and Dale Brown of Jackson, MO. She was proceded in death by her parents, sister Virginia Carris Paxson and brother Leland Brown.
