Helen L. Brown was born Oct 18, 1921 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Howard Lewis and Mabel Aletha (Hotle) Baker. She was united in marriage to Doyle Nelson Brown December 18, 1940 in Washington, Iowa. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington and VFW Auxiliary. She was employed with Logan Jewelry, Mason Hardware and retired from greeting at Wal-Mart. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and being with her family. Survivors include her husband Doyle of Washington, daughters Phyllis Hazelett of Washington, Lois Lemley, and husband Dennis of Washington, and Betty Hamil and friend Dave Taylor of Washington; sisters Lucille Ross of Washington, Dorothy Black of Washington, and Martha Brown of Mt Pleasant; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary Schooley and two brothers Lawrence and Clark Baker.
