Gertrude A. ANDERSON, 85 of Iowa City died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 in the Kahl Home in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lone Tree with Carol KAALBERG, parish life coordinator presiding. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Following committal services, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Lone Tree American Legion. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p..m. today in the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the West Liberty Library for children's literature.

Mrs. Anderson was born May 9, 1921 in West Liberty the daughter of Bernard H. and Louise R. (MEYERS) NORMAN. She married Glenn E. ANDERSON on Jan. 21, 1943 in West Liberty.

Mrs. Anderson was employed in housekeeping at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City for many years. A long time resident of West Liberty, she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She loved reading, her grandchildren, baking and collecting cookbooks.

Surviving are her husband, one son Glen E. ANDERSON and wife Susan of Bettendorf; four daughters, Mary "Mandi" ANDERSON of Ames, Carole SWIFT and husband Richard of Bettendorf; Patricia HARTLEY and husband Richard of Carroll and Tess MAGILL and husband Kent of Kansas City, MO; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, one sister, Charlotte SIDERS and husband Kenneth of Cedar Rapids, and several nieces and nephews.

SHe was preceded in death by one daughter Cate SPEARS, one brother Charles NORMAN and four sisters Mary BOYD, Regina ELLSWORTH, Louise JEHLE and Loretta BROWN
