Kenneth Arnold PAISLEY, age 55, of Ainsworth, Iowa died Saturday December 30, 2006 at his residence following his courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Wednesday January 3rd at the Jones Eden Funeral Home with Rev. Jean WOLLENBERG officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 Tuesday evening. Interment will take place at a later date at Oregon Township Cemetery. A general memorial has been established.

Ken was born May 1, 1951 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa the son of Lyle Marvin and Lena Bernice (PATTERSON) PAISLEY. He graduated from WACO High School in 1969. On February 8, 1969 Ken married his high school sweetheart Norma Lee BLODGETT in Lancaster, Missouri.

Ken worked 17 years in the Engineering Department for Washington County in secondary road maintenance. He previously worked at Rath Packing and DCS Sanitation. Ken also worked at the Wayland Carpenter Shop in Wayland, Iowa in his earlier years. While in high school he was awarded the Outstanding Sportsmanship Award and later received the WACO Alumni Hall of Fame Wrestling Award. Ken was active in Relay for Life in both Washington and Louisa County. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, playing slow pitch softball, working in his garden and doing yardwork. Ken helped with the Boy Scouts, and was proud of the 1951 Chevy Truck that he recently restored with his son.

Ken is survived by his wife Norma PAISLEY of Ainsworth, Iowa; four children Michelle PAISLEY RHOADS and husband Robert of Bourbon, Missouri; Marcy Paisley STOUT and husband Chris of Washington, Iowa; Michael Lyle PAISLEY and wife Joanne of Ainsworth, Iowa; Megan Paisley NEAL and husband John of Riverside, Iowa. Ken is also survived by eleven grandchildren and four siblings including William PAISLEY of Belknap, Illinois; Elaine Paisley YOUNG and husband Tom of Washington, Iowa; Erma Paisley WOOD and husband Steve of Ainsworth, Iowa; and Robert Paisley and wife Lori of Winfield, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1980 and his mother in 1998.
