Mrs. Walter West
Mary Strahan West was born Jan 31, 1882, on a farm east of Martensdale in Warren County, and died in Indianola Feb 12, 1956 at the age of 74 years and 12 days. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Wick. She was married to Walter R. West in April 1905. To this union were born three children: twin daughters, Dorothy, Mrs. Roy M. Adams of Des Moines; Helen, Mrs. Earl W. Koch of Cedar Falls, and Mary Louise, Mrs. M. Keith Barnard of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Carol Jean Koch and Karen Ann Barnard, and one brother, S. A. Strahan of Prole. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. L. W. Mendenahll, Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 14, 1956, at the Community church in Martensdale, with burial in the Wick Cemetery.
