(December 2, 1897 – December 20, 1938)

Indianola Tribune, Indianola, Iowa, Wed., Jan 4, 1939, p.5
Harold A. Willsey, only son of E. L. and Lyda Nutt Willsey, was born near Pleasant Hill, Dec. 2, 1897. He died at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Tuesday evening, Dec. 20, 1938, at the age of 41 years and 18 days. He received his education at the Hoosier Row School. His entire life was spent in the Pleasant Hill community. While a young boy he united with the Pleasant Hill church and was still a member of this church at the time of his death. On June 12, 1922 he was united in marriage to Ruth Walker. Five children were born to this union, Ruby, Thelma, Bernice, Merrill and Max. Harold was a prominent and successful farmer all his life. He was upright and honest, in all his dealings. He was ill only a short time and all that loving hands and medical skill could do was done, but he was called home at 6:30 Tuesday evening. He will not only be sadly missed at home, but throughout the whole community. Besides his widow and children he is survived by his father and mother; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Allen, and one nephew, Jerry Allen of Whittier, Calif., besides many other relatives and friends. The funeral was held Friday afternoon, Dec 23, at 2 o’clock at the Orr Funeral Home, the Rev. Sampson Cocks, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
