Charity Jane Masters, only daughter of Alexander and Jane Masters, was born in Savannah, Ashland Co., Ohio, July 26, 1852, and passed away at her home in New Virginia Dec 26, 1938 at the age of 86 years and 5 months. She was married to Frank R. Wilson Dec. 25th, 1893. She united with the Presbyterian Church when 14 years of age, and continued her membership there until moving to New Virginia, when it was transferred to the Christian Church, where she remained a faithful member and when able taught in the Sunday School and assisted as Superintendent. She leaves to mourn her departure one brother, John H. Masters of Martinsville, Ind., three step-children, Thomas J. Wilson of Des Moines, Mrs. Gertie McIntire of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mrs. Ida Leihy of Santa Marie, Calif., a number of other relatives and friends. Her parents, husband and two brothers preceded her in death.
”It matters not, tho the forms we know lie silently, restfully sleeping. We know that the heart which for them be true, is safe in the Master’s keeping. They have passed to the realm above, out of the world of strife, to receive our Father’s infinite love, the reward of a well-spent life.”
Funeral services were conducted in the Christian Church at 2:00 p.m., Dec. 28, 1938 by E. E. Stringfellow of Des Moines. Interment was made in the New Virginia Cemetery.
