Palmyra Rites For Chambers
Funeral services for Carl A. Chambers, 54, of Carlisle and the Palmyra community were held last Thursday afternoon at the Palmyra Methodist Church. Burial was in the Palmyra Cemetery. Mr. Chambers died if a heart ailment, Monday, July 17, at Des Moines General Hospital. Born in Warren County near Palmyra, Mr. Chambers was a laborer at the Armstrong Rubber Manufacturing Co., in Des Moines. He was a member of the Palmyra Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Clara; a daughter, Sharon, 16; a son, David, 13; two brothers, Ralph of Berlin, Ill., and Kenneth of Hartford; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Kornack and Mrs. Lula Thompson, both of Springfield, Ill., and Mrs. Lucy Koke of New Berlin, Ill.
