Kenneth Lewis Williamson
Kenneth Lewis, son of Raymond and Alice Williamson, was born June 23, 1944 at Madison, Wis., and departed this life September 3, 1948 at his home in Arena, Wis., at the age of four years, two months, and ten days. He was afflicted last February with lympho-sarcoma, an incurable cancer and received the latest cancer treatments known at the Madison hospital, being hospitalized many times. Doctors advised from the beginning that they had no known cure. Services were held Sunday, September 5, in the Gospel Mission Church at Arena, Wis., of which his father is pastor, and then the body was brought to the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Williamson, Chariton. Additional services were held Monday, September 6, at the Newbern Community Church, where his father had served four and one-half years prior to locating in Wisconsin. He is survived by the parents, a sister, Marilyn, and a brother, Donald, the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Williamson, of Chariton; Mrs. Anna Graves of Newbern; one great grandmother, Mrs. Fred Hunerdosse of Newbern, and many other relatives. Services at Newbern were conducted by the Rev. A. E. Beals and Rev. Virgil Swanson. Burial was in the Newbern Cemetery. Mr. Arthur Roberts, Mr. George Hodsgon and Mr. Fay Wrich, elders in the Gospel Mission Church accompanied the body to Chariton. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee.”
