Margaret Burt
Margaret Burt, oldest child of Henry and Peggy Burt, was born June 24, 1843, at Cherry Valley, Otsego County, New York, and died June 11, 1919 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Florence Foster, at Purdy, Iowa. Her age was 75 years, 11 months and 11 days. She was married to Marion Burt at Mina, Chautauqua County, New York, August 10, 1867. Her husband answered the death summons just four weeks before the call came to her. She leaves to mourn her departure two daughters and one son, and two brothers and one sister, Henry Burt of northeast Pennsylvania, and Will Burt of Union City, Pa., and Mrs. Jane Clifford of Dunkirk, New York.
She lived a good and useful life, and during her last sickness her children put forth every effort for her comfort. The funeral services were conducted from the Presbyterian church of Newbern by Rev. E. W. Curtis, and interment was at the Newbern Cemetery beside her husband.
