Samuel Glenwood Sinift
(September 12, 1880 – September 9, 1946)

Samuel Glenwood Sinift, son of Harvey and Mary Sinift, was born at New Virginia, Ia., Sept. 12, 1880, and departed this life Sept. 9, 1946. He was united in marriage to Dacre Fawcett March 8, 1907, and to this union one son, Maurice, was born. Mr. Sinift was baptized and united with the Sandyville Christian church while a young man and remained a member of the church the rest of his life. He came to the community west of Lacona at the age of 11 and had lived at his present home for 39 years. Surviving are: his wife, his son, Maurice, his daughter-in-law, Marcella, one grandchild, Maurice James Sinift; one sister, Mrs. Lela Mitchell, and other relatives and a large number of friends. Funeral services were held at the Liberty Center Methodist church Wednesday, Sept. 11, 1946, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold N. Olson in charge of the services. The music was in charge of Mrs. Susie Foust with Mrs. Hazel Thompson as pianist. The pallbearers were: Cloe Vincent, Hugh McCaflin, Wilber Rhodes, George Bennett, Lee Turner, and Fletcher Killen.
