George Robert Morris
(February 15, 1863 – September 16, 1946)

Robert Morris’ Funeral Thurs.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Browns Chapel Church for Robert Morris, 83, who died Monday. The Rev. Harold Olson, pastor of the Milo Methodist church will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Indianola Cemetery. Mr. Morris made his home with his son, Lester Morris. Another son, Capt. Archie Morris, is stationed at Hamburg, Germany.

George Robert Morris, son of Robert and Phoebe Gee Morris, was born in Indianola Feb 15, 1863, and departed this life Sept. 16, 1946, at the age of 83 years, 7 months, and 1 day. He was married May 3, 1885, to Flora Waechter who preceded him in death April 30, 1945. To this union four sons were born: Hugh who preceded him in death in 1944, Max who died in infancy, Capt. Archie Morris of Hamburg, Germany, and Lester. The latter and his wife have been with him and cared for him since the death of Mrs. Morris. He has been patient in this suffering. He will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren. He leaves his two sons, three daughters-in-law, 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. One granddaughter, Phyllis Kirkpatrick of Woodland, Wash., made her home with him since infancy. Three brothers and a half-sister preceded him in death. He joined the Methodist church in his early years and has always lived a Christian life. Funeral services were held at the Browns Chapel church Thursday, Sept. 19, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Harold N. Olson of Milo in charge. Pallbearers were Jay Wilson, Earl Kruse, Joe Chumbley, Tom Butler, Howard Baughman and Carl Sutherland. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Goodale with the Rev. J. W. Garbison as pianist. Burial was in the Indianola Cemetery.
