Ulysses S. Grant Enyart
(April 8, 1866 – March 6, 1946)

Ulysses S. Grant Enyart, son of Thomas and Elizabeth Enyart, was born in Fulton County, Ind., April 8, 1866, and died March 6, 1946, at his home in Hartford at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 28 days. When bur a child he came with his parents to Iowa where he had lived most of his life. In 1889 he was united in marriage to Maleva Ellen Calloway. To this union one son was born, Ray Enyart, of Hartford, who has always made his home with his parents. Early in life Mr. Enyart was converted and united with the Methodist church at Swan but for the past several years his affiliations have been with the Hephzibah Faith Missionary Association of Tabor, Ia. During this period of time he was active and devoted to the work of the gospel in Iowa and the state of Kansas. As a husband and father he was devoted and self-sacrificing, a kind friend and neighbor, who will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, son, one sister, Mrs. John Gaines of Phillipsburg, Kan.; one brother, A. H. Enyart of Prairie City; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the home by the Rev. H. E. Hegstrom of Des Moines, assisted by the Rev. G. N. Cook of Hartford. Interment was in the Swan Cemetery.
