William Andrew Woodring
(February 7, 1884 – December 22, 1944)

William Andrew Woodring, son of Tobias and Sally Woodring, was born in Des Moines, Feb 7, 1884. He grew to manhood in that city where he was married to Ella Smith in 1904. In 1907 they moved to Norwalk and made their home in this community until a few weeks ago. He united with the Methodist church at Norwalk in 1914. After an illness of a year Mr. Woodring died at his home in Des Moines Friday, morning, Dec 22, 1944. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Twila Woodring and Mrs. Katherine Elsworth of Des Moines; one son, Leonard, of Corydon; a brother, John of Des Moines; two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. One son, Thomas, preceded him in death. He will be greatly missed, not only in his home but in this community where he was always ready and willing to help those in need. Funeral services were held in the Norwalk Methodist church Sunday, Dec 24, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. C. D. Pinkard in charge. Interment was in the Norwalk Cemetery.
