Lyle Dean Davidson
(August 5, 1923 – December 1, 1944)

Lyle Dean Davidson, son of Floyd and Eva Davidson, was born near Liberty Center, Aug. 5, 1923, and died Dec. 1, 1944, at his home in Liberty Center at the age of 21 years, 3 months and 26 days. Three years ago Lyle underwent a major operation in a hospital in Des Moines, in hopes of regaining his health. All that was humanly possible was done by his loved ones but to no avail. His entire life had been spent in and around Liberty Center. He was graduated from the Liberty Center high school with the class of 1941. Lyle’s sunny disposition and pleasant ways made him very dear to his loved ones and friends. He is survived by his parents; one sister, Mrs. Thelma Westerly; his brother-in-law, Staff Sgt. Merle Westerly, serving with the 5th Army in Italy; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Michener of Milo and Mrs. Austin Davidson of Des Moines; five aunts, Mrs. Alta Arnold of Chariton, Mrs. Laura Perdue and Mrs. Olive Hansel of Des Moines, Mrs. Fern Howe and Mrs. Rhena Cambron of Milo; two uncles, John Michener of Milo and Harley Davidson of Osceola; also one aunt-in-law and five uncles-in-law, one of whom, Frank Howe, is serving with the Seabees; 18 cousins, six of them in the service, and one, George Howe, having been killed Oct 17, 1944, while serving his country with the 5th Army in Italy; other relatives; and a host of friends who were numbered by his acquaintances. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at Liberty Center Sunday, Dec. 3, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Blackman of Milo, with burial in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
