Harmon Hiatt
(1855 – October 2, 1923)

Harmon Hiatt, of Ackworth, North Dakota, died October 2nd, at the age of 68 years. He was one of the early settlers in that community, having located there twenty-three years ago. He leaves a large family. His last illness was of short duration, lasting only about three days. His suffering was intense, caused by gall stones, high blood pressure and heart trouble. He passed away at 2:30 p.m. October second. His sister, Mrs. Wayne Kinsel and a friend, Mrs. C. A. Seth, of Antler, attended his funeral. Mr. Hiatt spent his early years in the vicinity of Ackworth, Iowa, where he will be remembered by some of the old settlers. He was a brother of Mrs. Lon Rubottom of Milo; also of Joseph Hiatt, of this city. [Copied from a scrapbook at the Warren County Historical Society Library, Indianola, Iowa]
