John C. Clements
(March 15, 1844 – April 7, 1923)

John C. Clements was born at Mount Vernon, Ohio, March 15, 1844, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Della Viggers, in Denver, Colorado, April 7, 1923, aged seventy-nine years and twenty-three days. He came to Iowa in 1872, locating at Victor where he lived twenty years, moving to Tama in 1892. He came to Indianola in 1900 and remained until 1911 when he went to make his home with his daughter. In 1873 he was united in marriage with Josephine Smith, who with one daughter has preceded him in death. He is survived by four children, three daughters, Mrs. Carrie Keener of Toledo, Iowa; Olive Clements of Hill City, Kansas; Mrs. Della Viggers of Denver, Colorado, and one son, Smith R. Clements of Fort Morgan, Colorado. Funeral services were held in Denver April 9th and the remains were brought to Indianola for burial, which occurred Tuesday, April 10th.
