Daisy Marshall
(November 24, 1877 – October 24, 1923)

Mrs. J. C. Marshall
Mrs. Daisy Simons Marshall, daughter of David N. and Amy Deetz Simons, was born November 24th, 1877, near Summerset, Iowa. She was called out of this life Wednesday, October 24th, 1923, aged 45 years and 11 months. On March 10th, 1898, she was united in marriage to John C. Marshall of Summerset. To this union were born four children, Amy, Harold, Duane and Byron. In the year of 1912 she moved with her husband and family to Indianola in which place she lived until death claimed her. In the early years of her life she gave herself to the Master, and united with the Methodist church of Summerset, of which church she remained a member until her residence in Indianola. After coming to this city she transferred her membership to the United Presbyterian church and was a faithful member until God called her home. She has left behind to mourn her loss, her husband, John C. Marshall, her four children, Amy, Harold, Duane and Byron, one brother, W. A. Simons, her mother, Mrs. Sarah M. Simons, many other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Marshall was a devout Christian, a loving wife and mother, and a true friend. She faced life courageously, and when death came she was unafraid. Although for several years a sufferer, yet no complaint ever came from her lips and her faith was unshaken. Her devotion to her family was of the highest type, and for that reason beautiful, and that faithfulness is a priceless heritage left to those still here. Her devout Christian faith is also left as a blessing unexcelled to her loved ones. God in his mercy and love has taken her, even as he gave her, and we say with the saint of old, “The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
