William Freeman
(May 8, 1865 – September 4, 1923)

Will Freeman, son of Lewis and Martha Freeman, was born at Iowa City, May 8th, 1865, and departed this life at Superior, Wis., Sept 4th 1923. He removed with his parents to Appanoose County where he grew to young manhood, afterward locating near Lacona and learning the barber trade, which profession he followed until his death. He was a member of the Masonic lodge. He was out of a family of twelve children, six boys and six girls, all who preceded him in death, but three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Brown and Mrs. Alice Penwell of Lacona; and Mrs. Anne Brenenen of Denver, Colorado. Short funeral services were conducted at the grave by Rev. Goglestron, of Lacona, after which interment was made in Newbern Cemetery.
