Charles W. Dain
(August 18, 1878 – August 31, 1923)

Charles W. Dain, son of George and Lora Dain, was born in Nebraska County, Iowa, August 18th, 1878, departed this life, August 31st, 1923 in age 45 years and 13 days. He was united in marriage May 15th, 1901, to Miss Nellie Seaman at Sandyville, Iowa. Came to Des Moines in 1902, studied telegraphy and entered the service of Rock Island Railroad as station agent at different stations until 1910. Moved back to Des Moines and entered service of Rock Island as brakeman which position he held until July 1922, when failing health caused him to quit. He was a patient sufferer and was so appreciative of the many kind things shown him from time to time during his illness. He leaves to mourn his loss a faithful and devoted wife, mother, stepfather and one sister and a host of friends.
