(1859 – May 1, 1923)

Death of A. W. McCoy
A. W. McCoy, a former longtime resident of Indianola and vicinity, died at Oakland, Calif., on May 1st, according to a dispatch received here by relatives. Particulars of the death have not arrived. He has been sick for several months and word had been received that he would soon go to the hospital for an operation for tumor. Mr. McCoy was born in Pennsylvania 64 years ago. He came to Warren County in 1876 and was raised on the farm of his parents west of Indianola, the place now occupied by Henry Walton. About 12 years ago he moved to Oakland. He leaves a wife and one son in California, and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Robertson of Warren County and Mrs. I. W. Graham of Des Moines, and a brother, T. G. McCoy, of Scotch Ridge.
