HENRY S. WESTERLY
Henry S. Westerly was born November 6, 1868, at Pella, Iowa, and died at his home in Indianola, May 24, 1939, at the age of 70 years, 6 months, and 18 days. He was the fourth child of George and Elizabeth Westerly who, with one brother, Ernest, have preceded him in death. His boyhood was spent on a farm near Pella. He moved to Warren County when a young man, where he had since resided. On March 29, 1893, he was married to Sarah Adeline Grater. To this union one son, Eddie, was born. He is survived by his widow; one son; two brothers, George and Edward, of Indianola; three sisters, Cornelia VanZee of Pella, Mrs. John Heemstra and Elizabeth Westerly of Indianola, and six grandchildren, Phyllis, Bernard, Richard, Patricia, Beverly and Michael Heemstra of Liberty Center. He was a member of the Masonic order, Senna Lodge No. 344, A.F. & A. M. He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather, a man of high ideals and a loyal friend. His friends are numbered by his acquaintances. He was always willing and ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Funeral services were held at the Orr Funeral home Friday, May 26, at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Robert Morlock, Pastor of the South Indianola Circuit. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Liberty Center.
