HENRY NEMEYER
Henry Nemeyer, son of J. H. and Hannah Nemeyer, was born near Farmington, Ill., Dec. 7, 1863, and passed away at his home east of Milo after a lingering illness at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 20 days. He was married to Mary E. Hutchinson July 19, 1892. To this union two sons were born, John and Ray. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Norris and Mrs. Lillian Ballou, both of Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. Nemeyer preceded him in death April 4, 1936. H was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
He came from Illinois at the early age of six years and had lived on the same farm until the time of this death. Mr. Nemeyer was a good neighbor and was held in respect for his honesty and ability as a farmer. He was always industrious and never shirked his part on any job. He will be greatly missed in the home by his two sons. He was a pal and father to his boys and no one can ever take his place in their lives. The community has lost a good neighbor and an efficient farmer during his active life. He suffered patiently and has answered the last summons.
Funeral services were held in the Milo Christian Union church Friday, May 29, at 2:00 p.m., the Rev. J. W. Garbison officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Lora Davey, Mrs. Lizzie Nutting, Bert Nutting and John Kimzey. Pallbearers were Tom Scott, John Keller, Dr. Fielding, David Melick, Rufus Manley and Henry Dittmer. Interment was in Goode’s Chapel Cemetery.
