Mrs. F. F. Konrad Of Lacona Dead
Lacona, April 15 – Mrs. Frank Konrad, 57, wife of the Lacona postmaster, died about midnight Saturday and services were held at the Methodist Church in Lacona Monday afternoon. Death was due to a heart attack. She is survived by her husband. She is a sister of Mrs. Howard Myers of Indianola. Among the Indianola persons who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Luther P. Williams, Mrs. Bert McPherson, Mrs. Gerald Nyswonger, Mrs. Carl Squires, Mrs. Earl Needles, Miss Fern Snuggs, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Hess, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kimzey, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shupe, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Shupe, Mrs. Hettie Marsh, Mrs. Hettie Snuggs, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Kent and Mrs. Harold Miller.

MRS. FRANK KONRAD
Martha I. Shupe, the fourth child (first daughter) of John Wesley and Evaline C. Shupe, was born on a farm west of Lacona July 19, 1883. She was united in marriage with Frank F. Konrad July 26, 1911. She had lived in her present home for the past 27 years. In March, 1932, Mr. and Mrs. Konrad made a home for Charles Thomason, who was a high school student. She departed this life at 12:45 a.m. Easter day, April 13, 1941. Mrs. Konrad was a good homemaker and was also active in the Methodist church to which she belonged since childhood and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Those left to mourn her passing, her husband, Frank F. Konrad; Charles Thomason; her brothers, Charles E. and Leroy of Clarion, and John W. of Memphis, Tenn.; her sisters, Mrs. Nora Wilke of Milo; Mrs. Artena McCurdy of Ames and Mrs. Anna Myers of Indianola; two nieces; nine nephews; and many other relatives and a host of friends. The father, mother and a brother, Harry, preceded her in death. The funeral was held at the Lacona Methodist church Monday, April 14, in charge of the Rev. Theodore Coleman of the Methodist church and the Rev. Lowell L. Yeatts of the Nazarene church. Interment was in the Shupe cemetery.
