Marion Gayle Rock
(July 28, 1942 - October 30, 2019)

Marion Gayle Rock, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at West View Care Center in Indianola. Funeral services for Gayle will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 pm Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Hartford Cemetery.
Gayle was born on July 28, 1942 in Salem, Ohio to Floyd and Laura Bretz. She graduated in 1960 from David Anderson High School in Lisbon, Ohio and went on to study at Dyke College. She moved to Iowa in 1965 and began working at Allied Construction Company, where she worked until September 2019.
Gayle loved to do crossword puzzles, drink iced tea, listen to rock and roll, and spoil her cat, Peaches.
Gayle is survived by her children, Trudy (Mark) Crawford, David Rock and Philip Rock; grandchildren Amanda Crawford (Joe Dinan), Sean (Kaycee) Crawford and Ashley (Mike) Reese; great-grandchildren Natalie and Kaleb Reese; and her sister, Carol Leslie. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim.
