Obituary – Dow Hall Nicholson
Dow Hall Nicholson was born at Lacona, Iowa, July 24, 1894 and died October 2, 1918 at St. Francis Hospital at Waterloo, Iowa. She lived her girlhood days at Lacona and Liberty Center, Iowa. She united with the Methodist church at Liberty Center at about the age of 12 years. She was graduated from the Liberty Center High School with the class of 1911. How true the words of the prophet, her sun is gone down while it is yet day. The hand of our heavenly Father leading often leads thru the clouds, thru the white heat of bitter testing, thru ways where our finite minds cannot trace the way. While loving the humble followers with tender compassion, yet said in an hour of amazed wonderment, “the things I do ye cannot know now.” This marks one of the unfathomable mysteries of our heavenly Father.
Dow leaves to mourn her loss: her mother, husband, 5 sisters, and 2 brothers and a host of friends. To that eternal world she has preceded these to await their coming. The funeral services were held at the home of her mother, Saturday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by Rev. J. E. Williams, pastor of the M. E. Church. Interment in the Cochran Cemetery.
