Mrs. B. F. Edgerton
Ada D. Koble, daughter of Henry and Elimena Koble was born near Washington, in Washington County, Iowa, Feb 27, 1870, died at her home near Liberty Center, Dec. 24, 1917, aged 47 years, 9 months and 27 days. When about four years old she moved with her parents to Liberty Center where she grew to womanhood. She was married to B. F. Edgerton on July 4, 1888. To this union six children were born, the oldest, Jessie Dale, dying at the age of one and one-half years. Her husband, the five children, Mrs. Ellen Millican of Pomona, California; Mrs. Grace Millican of Artesian, South Dakota; Kathleen, Frank and Allen, who are yet at home, together with other friends are left to sense the loneliness of her departure. After her marriage they resided for a time near Liberty Center, they then moved to Oregon where they lived for seven years, since their return she has lived near Liberty Center.
At an early age she was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Liberty Center. She has since lived a faithful consistent Christian life endeavoring to follow in the footsteps of her Master. Many have been blessed by her cheery ways, and most sorely will her loved ones miss her wise counsel and loving companionship. She at one time expressed the beautiful thoughts that as there were loving arms ready to receive her on her entrance into this world, so she was sure of a welcome in the Great Beyond. At another time she said to her loved ones, “Do not worry over me, my way is perfectly clear, all is well.” Though a great sufferer of many months, she bore her suffering with a patience that was an inspiration to all who watched her. Those hands that have so often ministered to others are at rest. They are no longer responsive to our touch, the voice we loved is still, the aching body is laid to rest and the spirit to the God who gave. With aching hearts and tear dimmed eyes we give the last farewell, until that glad time when, God shall wipe away all tears. The funeral service was held at the Liberty Center M. E. Church, Dec the 25th, at 11 a.m. H. D. Glassburn, pastor of the Milo M. E. Church officiated. Interment was made in the beautiful Liberty Center Cemetery.
