Elizabeth Ann Greer
(June 1, 1833 – Sep 2, 1923)

Elizabeth Ann Nelson was born in Trumble County, Ohio, June 1, 1833, and died Sept. 2, 1923, aged 90 years, 3 months and one day.
September 14th, 1854, she was united in marriage to Plimpton Elliott Greer. To them were born six children: John Edwin, who died in infancy, Sarah Douglas, of Los Angeles, Cal., Carrie Parker, deceased, William Greer, of Ames, Isaac Greer, of Algona, Wash., and Emily Holladay, of Indianola.
In 1866 they homesteaded in Cherokee County and continued to make their home in northern Iowa until 1889 when they moved to Shenandoah, which place continued to be their home until the death of her husband in 1903. Since that time Mother Greer has spent most of her time in Indianola at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. M. Holladay. The funeral was held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. M. Holladay, conducted by Dr. Willis, Monday at 3 p.m. The body was taken to Shenandoah Tuesday for interment.
