Nancy E. McRae
(Mar 30, 1830 – Jan 24, 1923)

Mrs. Nancy E. McRae died January 24th, 1923 at the age of ninety-two years, nine months and twenty-four days at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. H. Hoshaw of Osceola. She was born March 30th, 1830 in Sullivan County, Indiana. She was married to Thomas A. McRae in 1849 and moved to Warren County, Iowa in 1856. There was born to this union fifteen children, ten boys and five girls. All but three boys and four girls have preceded her in death.
After the death of her husband she moved to Greene County, Iowa, with her sons and lived there until about twenty-four years ago when she came to Des Moines and lived among her children. Two years ago she moved to Osceola, Iowa, with her daughter, where she passed away January 24, 1923.
Those left to mourn her loss are: Frank McRae, Edd McRae and Willis McRae, all of Des Moines; Mary Hoshaw of Osceola; Jessie Hershman, Dora Dalbey of Des Moines and Jane Boudish of Wala Wala, Washington, and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of friends.
The funeral was held in the Christian Church at Sandyville, January 26, 1923, after which the body was laid to rest in the Sandyville Cemetery.
