Robert C. Howser
(Feb 7, 1849 – Jan 24, 1923)

Robert C. Howser, son of Jonathan N. and Margaret Dillman Howser, was born near Felicity, in Clermont Cuonty, Ohio, February 7, 1849. In the year 1860 the family removed to Champaign County, Illinois, where Robert C. Howser grew to manhood. In 1875 he established his residence in Page County, Iowa, where, on April 2, 1879, he was married to Priscilla E. Hahn, who, with Mr. Howser, has resided in Indianola since 1895.
The three children are O. C. Howser, of Tyronza, Arkansas, Roy E. Howser, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Olive Jessie, now married to Dr. Thesle Job, of 524 Clarence Avenue, Oak Park, Illinois.
Throughout this life, Mr. Howser was of a deeply religious spirit and since early manhood has been closely identified with the Methodist Episcopal church, partaking activity of all its work in which he felt that he could assist in advancing the cause of his Master. His death on January 24, 1923, at the home, 701 North C Street, Indianola, Iowa, was at the age of seventy-three years, eleven months, and seventeen days. The funeral was held from the Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, assisted by Rev. Fred Harris, Saturday, January 27, at 10:30 a.m. [Copied from a scrapbook of obituaries at the Warren County Historical Society Library, Indianola, Iowa]
