Charles Sackett Dead
Word was received last week of the death of Charles Sackett, Sunday, January twenty-first in a hospital at Centerville. Charlie had been in poor health for a number of months, and went to Ottumwa from here where he had a sister, a Mrs. Knox. He entered a hospital at that place, was operated upon and had so far recovered that it was possible for him to get to Centerville where another sister, a Mrs. Peach lived, but after arriving at Centerville it became necessary that he enter the hospital there, where he passed away.
Charlie, who was a familiar sight to the people of Indianola, came here in 1908 and was employed by S. G. Keeney for nine years. After severing his connnection with Mr. Keeney he attended the post office heating plant, the one in the Worth Savings bank building, the Indianola Auto Co. garage and the Sigler building up until about one year ago. Mr. Sackett is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Peach of Centerville; Mrs. Knox of Denver and one brother on the old home place at Dudley.
