Nathan Thomas Pearson
(September 20, 1840 – January 11, 1923)

Indianola Tribune, January 1923
Nathan Thomas Pearson, son of Lazarus and Sarah Parson was born in Johnson County, North Carolina, September 20, 1840, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elson Miner, at Indianola, Iowa, January 11, 1923, aged eighty-two years, three months, and twenty-one days.
He was married January 2, 1866 to Achsah A. Newlin, who died November 19, 1871. To this union four children were born, only one, Sewel J. Pearson, of Indianola, Iowa is living. He was married to Mary Jane Farlaw, November 26, 1873. To this union seven children were born, two of whom are living: Rachel Fowler, of Shell Lake, Wisconsin and Zilpah Miner of Indianola, Iowa. He is survived by one brother, William L. Pearson, of Japan and a sister, Elizabeth Pearson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, also ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In the spring of 1882 they moved to Iowa, where they have made their home living ten years in Polk County and the remainder of the time in Warren County. Recently they spent some time with their daughter, Rachel Fowler at Shell Lake, Wisconsin, returning to Iowa a few months ago. He became a member of the Friends church in his early childhood and lived an exemplary Christian life. He was interested in all the activities of his church and maintained a testimony in favor of peace, temperance and moral reform. He became blind in 1911, but was always hopeful and patient in spite of his affliction. In his death Ackworth Church loses a valued member, but we believe he has been transferred from the church on earth to the church above, where he has the fellowship of the saints of all ages.
Card of Thanks – We, the widow and relatives of the deceased wish to thank our many friends and neighbors for their help and sympathy in our bereavement, also for the floral offerings so kindly given. – Mary J. Pearson, Sewel J. Pearson, Rachel Fowler, Zilpah Miner and family.
