Fred Cole Dies; Retired Farmer

Fred A. Cole, 76, of 5131 Easton blvd., a retired farmer, died of a heart ailment Monday at his home after and illness of 2 1/2 years.

A native of St. Charles, Mr. Cole came her 50 years ago. He formerly was a Polk County road maintenance worker. He was a member of Grand View Park Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the cemetery at Rising Sun.

Surviving are his widow Dena; a son, Glen, and a daughter, Mrs. Geverna Triplett, both of Des Moines; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Transcriber's note: The 1885 and 1895 censuses show the deceased to be born in Warren County. The family lived close to the county border and St. Charles was likely their post office.
