Marvin D. Thompson passed away Monday September 23, 2012 at the Parkridge Manor in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Funeral Services for Marvin will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Marvin served his Country in the U.S. Navy. Marvin loved riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Marvin worked for the City of Des Moines Publics Works, Longs Auto Parts and Napa Genuine Auto Parts as a Machinist.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Colleen Thompson of Pleasant Hill; Son, Mike (Toni) Thompson of Pleasant Hill,; Daughters, Pam (Al) Moreland of Carlisle and Missy Thompson of Earlham; Sister, Marlys Powers of Carlisle; Grandchildren, Todd Thompson, Tia Wolett, Shelby Moreland, Kelli Moreland, Dallas Schurman, Phillip Thompson; Great-grandchildren, Gavin Fedosa, Rylee, Jake, Mathew Thompson.

Marvin was preceded by his son, Robin Thompson, his parents, Cecil and Marie (Olson) Thompson; Brother, Lavern Thompson and sisters Mae Heavner and Lucille Curtis. ~ The Peterson Funeral Home, Carlisle, IA 23 Sept 2012.
